What is the role of a First Contact Practitioner (FCP)?

  1. First contact practitioners are registered health professionals in muscular and bone related health problems.
  2. They can offer telephone , video and face to face appointments at Bodmin road health centre.
  3. Common conditions they manage include sciatica, osteoarthritis and tendinopathy.
  4. They can order x-rays and other radiological tests for further assessment.
  5. They can advise on physiotherapy and other treatments. In some cases they can organise and administer joint injections.
